The upcoming sequel to one of 2009’s best games is now completed. Gearbox has announced that Borderlands 2’s development has wrapped up and has been submitted for certification. The game is set for its September 21st release date but in that time, the development team will be working on post-launch downloadable content. This includes the Mechromancer class that is available to anyone who preorders the game and receives the access to the Premiere Club, and unannounced content.
Having played the game at E3, there is no doubt Borderlands 2 will be a fantastic game, offering more of the same we’ve come to expect from the franchise. Some may take that as a negative connotation, but the mechanics in the first Borderlands were so good that we’re willing to play even a lightly tweaked version of that. With memorable characters, four-player coop and an extensively long story, Borderlands 2 will make a huge splash this September.
