Konami and Kojima Productions have finally revealed the link between Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Both will be part of the Metal Gear Solid canon with Ground Zeroes serving as a prologue and entry experience to ease players into the new gameplay mechanics of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Oh, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is out Spring 2014.
“The advanced capabilities of the FOX Engine have allowed me to tell the new story in a new way,” Hideo Kojima explains. “There will be a significant difference in what Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain brings to the series, so we want to ease players into the new open world environment and its potential. As such, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground has been designed to introduce key elements, allowing them to fully benefit from all that the new game will offer.”
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will consist of one mission where users infiltrate a Cuban prison camp on a rescue mission. The story of Ground Zeroes will culminate at the beginning of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Players will get to try out all of the new mechanics that will be in The Phantom Pain. This includes an open-world that allows players to tackle missions any way they want.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will launch as a digital release and retail release for PS3 and Xbox 360 for £19.99 and £29.99 respectively. The game will also release on PS4 and Xbox One as a digital release for £29.99. This is about $19.99 and $29.99.
