In a surprising turn of events, Capcom revealed that they’re pulling Marvel vs Capcom 3, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and its DLC from the PSN/XBLA store. This means you’ll have until December 17, 2013 for the NA PSN (thats Tuesday), December 19, 2013 for European PSN and December 26, 2013 for Xbox Live to purchase the game digitally or its DLC, before they’re removed.
In honor of the news, all DLC is currently 50% off on the PSN, which means you can get all the costumes for $9.99 and Jill/Shuma for $2.50 a piece, though the Vita version of Jill/Shuma are still listed for $5 dollars. This is an especially good deal in Europe, since the game supports Cross-Buy. Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case in NA, but not a terrible deal if you want it. No word on an Xbox sale, though we should hear something about that next week.
Unfortunately, no reason was given for the removal, though many suspect it has to do with copyrights. Something similar happened back on the PlayStation 2/Xbox, where Capcom had to pull copies of Marvel vs Capcom 2 over losing the license. However, the blog post makes no mention of Marvel vs Capcom 2 or Marvel vs Capcom Origins. Since both of these games are on sale for the holiday, I strongly suggest you pick them up if you’re interested. It would be a shame to miss out on either of those fantastic games, due to misinformation.
