The Consumer Electronics Show isn’t typically known for its many game announcements. While both Sony and Microsoft attend and typically have press conferences they barely ever touch games. However 2014 is very different. Sony has just released the PS4 and we’re hungrily waiting for games and PlayStation Software Product Development Head for Sony Worldwide Studios Scott Rhode has just Tweeted either the best teaser, or the best trolling of the community ever.
Scott Rhode’s Tweet reads, “Now THAT is a big box… ” and contains a picture of the Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Sideshow Collectibles Figure. However, it’s what is in front of the box that makes people think we’ll be seeing Uncharted on PS4 tonight. Sitting right in front is the DualShock 4.
Uncharted for PS4 was announced on the PS4’s launch day, but the short teaser revealed almost nothing. Fans have been waiting news about the upcoming game. Uncharted ended last-generation as the largest PS3 franchise with both Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception selling over six million units. Uncharted for PS4 is a very big deal at Sony.
So how does this all tie to CES? Sony will be taking the stage in a few hours where they will not only be unveiling new products, but also talking about sales. PS4 has been undoubtedly a huge success since launch and tonight we will likely find out how many PS4s Sony has sold since then, and get a sneak peek at what will be the biggest PS4 exclusive released this year.
It’s all very exciting. We’ll have to wait and find out what happens.
