When Aliens: Colonial Marines was released, the announced Wii U version was nowhere to be seen. Sega had quietly pushed back the highly anticipated game — one thought to be best on Nintendo’s console — as there wasn’t time to properly release it. This was understandable as the Wii U had debuted just months before and the fact that it ended up vaporware even more so considering how bad Aliens: Colonial Marines was. With Alien: Isolation, however, the only reason not to release it on the Wii U is because Sega doesn’t think enough people will purchase it to warrant the trouble. This seems to be the case, as not only was Wii U was not among the announced consoles when the game was revealed earlier today, but Sega has confirmed on Twitter that they “don’t have plans to put the game on Wii U.”
It seems that by the month more third party developers are dropping Wii U from their multi-platform support. It’s a shame, too, as games like Alien: Infestation would be a perfect candidate for the GamePad.
