Signs of a Guilty Gear Xrd Console Release Emerge on Twitter

Is it just us or have game developers been dropping some pretty major updates and teasers on Twitter lately?

Takeshi Yamanaka of Arc System Works has been using Twitter to update fans on the current status of their latest fighting game, Guilty Gear Xrd-SIGN-. The game has been making waves in Japanese arcades as of late and now the question on everyone’s mind is when can they expect to have it in their living room.

Yamanaka posted a tweet confirming that the home version of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will indeed happen in 2014 for Japan. At this stage the confirmed platforms are PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, with no mention of Microsoft consoles. This comes as little surprise considering that Arc System Works decided to skip over the Xbox 360 with the home version of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma, which is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and Vita at this stage.

While a 2014 release window was mentioned back when the game was first revealed, it’s still a nice update coming straight from the developer. While the exact Japanese release date has yet to be announced, it seems to still be on track for a 2014 launch.

The tweet loosely translates as:

Just in case. GUILTY GEAR Xrd-SIGN- home [version] is expected to release a vertical multi-platform PS3 and PS4 in 2014!
