Markus “Notch” Persson, creator of Minecraft, tweeted about a potential movie deal with Warner Brothers today. And he wasn’t joking. “Someone is trying leak the fact that we’re working with Warner Brothers on a potential Minecraft Movie — I wanted to be the leak!”
In an email to Polygon, Notch confirmed the tweet. “It’s for real. I think every part of that tweet was real, including me wanting to be the one to spill the news about a potential movie.”
A report from Deadline suggests that Roy Lee, whose most recent film was The Lego Movie, will be producing the live-action flick.
