PlayStation Vita Pets Has a Release Date And a Purpose, Apparently

It’s hard to take any game with the word “pets” in the title seriously. It’s even harder to imagine any sort of creativity in a game with said word in its title.¬†Spiral House, however, wants PlayStation Vita Pets to be ¬†“more than just a pet sim .” In a recent announcement, the company stated that their take on the “petz” genre would be “a real game, with characters, fun and adventure.” Thankfully, too, because there’s clearly no room in the industry for another ordinary pet pal adventure.

You’ll still be able to do all the core pet-game musts, like pamper, bathe, mercilessly dress-up and play with your puppy, but there’s a world outside the confines of your pet-prison that’s littered with puzzles, a spooky mine, a massive forest, and even a castle. Of course, you’ll need your furry friend to come along, otherwise the game would just be called PlayStation Vita Tech Demo.

PlayStation Vita Pets launches June 3rd, and it’s shaping up to be something that the whole family can enjoy.
