In a surprise turn, IGN is reporting that Platinum Games, best known for Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Bayonetta, has been developing a third-person action game under the Legend of Korra banner. The sequel to the highly beloved Avatar series will be heading into the third season later this week, so it’s not a huge surprise we’re getting the game announcement now.
Activision will be publishing the downloadable game and will be available on PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 later this year. Who would have thought Platinum Games of all developers would be the ones handling the adaptation of an American cartoon. There’s also a 3DS version coming that will be developed by Webfoot Technologies.
