Gearbox Release First Gameplay Trailer for Battleborn

Gearbox, famed creator of the Borderlands series, have released the first gameplay trailer for their new project Battleborn.

The trailer runs a little under 7 minutes and right from the beginning you can see the game is heavily influenced stylistically by Borderlands, which is not at all a bad thing. The trailer shows off each individual character’s unique styles of combat. There a¬†few¬†different types of characters presented in the trailer. A heavy gunner, a soldier with a machine gun, a swordsman, a female archer, and a guy that throws throwing knives.

The trailer also gives you a peek at some of the character customization that’s shaped like DNA in that you have two different sides of the double-helix offering different plays styles and abilities on each side. The trailer finishes with a close-up of all the characters in the trailer before they go into a boss fight.

The premise of the Battleborn is that you and a “myriad” of other powerful heroes are the only hope for the last star in a dying universe. You and the other heroes have to put aside your differences to save the universe.

There isn’t a release date for Battleborn but on its site the game is going to release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
