New Pokemon Center ‘Mega Tokyo’ To Open This December

With the release of the highly anticipated Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire around the corner, Tokyo’s official Pokemon Center in Odaiba will be closing its doors come December 7, making way for the brand new Pokemon Center “Mega Tokyo” opening only days later, on December 12. Located in the heart of Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City Alpa, one of Tokyo’s largest — and hippest — shopping centers, the new Pokemon Center is set to offer fans the definitive Pokemon consumer experience that will rival its predecessor.

The new store will feature a completely new futuristic design, along with a brand new store logo boasting new mascots, Mega Charizard Y and Pikachu. Business hours will be from 10 AM to 8 PM.

In celebration of the store’s opening, Pokemon Centers across Japan will be distributing Shiny Mega Charizard Ys and Shiny Pikachus for customers in possession of Pokemon X/Y and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire from December 12, 2014 through January 16 of next year. Additionally, first time customers of the Pokemon Center will also be eligible to receive their own special Pikachu doll rocking a Mega Charizard Poncho, an original Pokemon trading card, and a chance to win some free store merchandise by entering the “Pokemon Center Mega Chance” raffle.
