It’s not hard to see why so many people became obsessed with Hinterland’s tough-as-nails survival game, even in its genres increasingly over-saturated market space. With a gorgeously (and deceptively) inviting world, sharp mechanics and an engaging pseudo-mystery to explore, we were hooked all the same.
Having sold 250,000 copies, Long Dark developers Hinterland Studio released a nifty infographic highlighting some interesting and surprising statistics. Particularly shocking stats include the game world size following the “next” update, as well as the embarrassingly low number of players able to survive 50 days in the wilderness.
