Borderlands the Handsome Collection Announced

The inevitable has happened as 2K and Gearbox are bring Borderlands’ greatest hero villain, Handsome Jack, to current-gen systems.

The Handsome Collection will include both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel along will all their respective DLC. It will even include the DLC that hasn’t been revealed yet in a playable class and campaign add-on. If you haven’t finished the game or you have and want your characters and progress carried over you will be able to do that. Your character level and Badass rank will be carried over to the Handsome Collection, which will now also allow up to four players playing on one screen. A feat that hasn’t been done on the any of the franchise’s games.

“The Handsome Collection gives players the opportunity to experience the full arc of Handsome Jack’s rise and fall, from his not-so-humble beginnings on Elpis to becoming the tyrannical Hyperion CEO on Pandora, all in one value-packed bundle,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “This collection marks the Borderlands franchise’s official move to the next-gen platforms, and we’re proud to offer our fans the ability to continue playing with the characters they’ve built as they carry on adventuring in The Handsome Collection.”

Also being announced is the The Handsome Collection Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition. This set will include the Handsome Collection plus a remote controlled Claptrap steward robot, a collectible steel case, and 12 exclusive lithographs. You’ll control your Claptrap robot via a smartphone app, for iOS and Android, and can move in any direction like Claptrap. He’ll also be given the ability to say some lines and transmit video to your phone of his surrounding through his eye. Claptrap-in-a-Box is a limited quantity deal only shipping 5,000 units worldwide and is currently available for pre-order.

The Handsome Collection is scheduled to release March 24 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $59.99. The Claptrap-in-a-box Edition will be for $399. You can find more detailed information on the the contents of each collection here.
