Latest EA Financial Report Sees Dragon Age: Inquisition as BioWare’s Most Successful Launch Ever

EA has today released their Q3 FY15 Financial Results and the studio has ended 2014 on a high note. For the calendar year of 2014, EA was the number one publisher on PS4 and Xbox One thanks to games like Dragon Age: Inquisition, FIFA 15 and 14, NHL 15, Madden NFL 15, EA Sports UFC, Titanfall and Battlefield 4.

Dragon Age: Inquisition, in fact, was the most successful launch in BioWare History, with the single player campaign alone having been played for more than 113 million hours.

For the quarter, net revenue of $1.428 billion was above EA’s guidance of $1.275 billion. Diluted earnings per share of $1.22 was above guidance of $0.90. On a trailing twelve month basis, EA had net revenue of $4.337 billion of which a record $2.178 billion was digital (more than half for the first time ever).

EA Mobile also helped the positive results for the company, with monthly active users for EA’s mobile titles averaging more than 160 million in Q3. SimCity BuildIt just launched in December and has already achieved 22 million downloads to date and has reached the top 5 iOS game downloads in more than 100 countries.
