Alibaba Invests $10 Million in OUYA

The Wall Street Journal reports that OUYA recently received an influx of money from Alibaba. Alibaba has invested $10 million into the company and have kicked around the possiblity of using the microconsole’s library of over 1,000 games in Alibaba’s set top box. Set top boxes have become huge in China after the ban on consoles was lifted, and this move would give Alibaba’s box a fairly large library of games including some well-known franchises like Sonic the Hedgehog and most recently, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath. Nothing has officially been done, but if a deal is signed to distribute the games throughout China, this could be a huge deal for OUYA.
