If you’ve wanted to dive into The Last of Us, but don’t want to make the full financial commitment (are you insane?), its outstanding single-player DLC Left Behind will get a standalone PS4 and PS3 release on May 12.
While standalone DLC has become commonplace in this industry, it’s still bizarre to see spoiler-laden downloadable content released on its own. Left Behind is absolutely riddled with campaign spoilers to the point where Naughty Dog has recommended that players embark on the original journey before hanging out with Ellie and Riley.
An intriguing upgrade path will also be available for those looking to save a bit of money on the full version of The Last of Us or The Last of Us Remastered. The standalone Left Behind download will come with a two-hour demo of the underrated Factions Multiplayer, and those who enjoy this can download The Last of Us‘ multiplayer component on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 for $9.99. If you already own Factions Multiplayer, you can download the full single-player campaign and the Treacherous Territories Map Pack for $29.99 on PS4 and $19.99 on PS3. Finally, those who don’t own The Last of Us‘ multiplayer can upgrade Left Behind to a complete version of the award-winning title (including the aforementioned map pack) for $39.99 and $29.99, respectively.
