NVIDIA posted a trailer for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Knight to show off all the little details they’re bringing to the table with their “GameWorks” technology.
If you’re playing the game on PC, you can look forward to all of the following visual improvements:
Check out the incredible effects NVIDIA GameWorks brings to Batman Arkham Knight! Smoke and fog react to the movement in the fight scenes, including when a box is thrown or part of the floor blows up into piece. Paper debris gets kicked around as Batman takes on all the baddies. Enhanced rain allows the rain to naturally bead off when coming into contact with Batman and his cape.
It’s Batman: Arkham Knight, The Way It’s Meant to Be Played.
GameWorks Technology shown in the video:
• Interactive Fog and Smoke:
• Interactive Paper Debris
• PhysX Destruction
• Enhanced Rain
That’s right, peasant console dwellers — enhanced rain. Let’s hope you can stand to look at your crummy non-enhanced rain on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One without vomiting.*
Sure, it’s the same silly enhancements the company showed off for Arkham City, and I remember laughing at all the attention paid on the “interactive paper debris” then as well. But hey, if NVIDIA wants to spend an entire video showing off the Batarang dissipating some smoke, that’s fine by me; I just want to see more Arkham Knight.
