Splatoon Hit with Errors Before First Splatfest, New Stage Coming

Folks looking forward to the very first Splatfest competition in Splatoon will have to wait a bit longer. Nintendo announced today it will be postponing the event due to errors found during the Japanese version of the competition which means the cats versus dogs saga will continue for now.

The matchmaking system created long wait times and players were unable to join matches. At the moment there is no word on when the Splatfest will resume. You can check out this recent video to get a basic feel for the party-like atmosphere of the event.

However, there is some good news for Splatoon fans as a brand new stage will be added to the mix. Bluefin Depot is not a hardware store where one buys fish supplies. It’s a brutal war zone that only the toughest Inklings will survive. There is a middle platform separated by two islands making it hard to go back and forth. Bluefin Depot also has plenty of walls to climb upon, which you’ll need to do if you want to sneak into enemy territory.
