PlayStation VR Has A Price…Range

In a statement at TGS, the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, Adam Brass, said that the Project Morpheus, now named PlayStation VR, will cost about the same as a new console.

PlayStation VR is Sony’s attempt at getting into the virtual reality space and they seem confident. In an interview with Bloomberg, Brass said, “VR rewrites the rule book on how you can create games. You’re seeing a large amount of interest and work happening among smaller teams, because it’s possible to create something in VR that is very simple but still very magical.” The headset is set to launch with ten titles and Brass also confirmed that PSVR is on schedule to arrive early next year.

This confidence and faith in their product, combined with the PlayStation brand and, of course, the power of the hardware inside, land it at around three to four hundred dollars. The competition has yet to be officially priced either, but the Oculus is rumored to be around the same and the HTC Vive is supposedly a little more expensive. As time goes on, though, we will see which comes out on top. That just might not be for a while.

So, would you take a PlayStation VR for a good $400? Let us know in the comments.
