UK Charts: Destiny: The Taken King Takes the Top Spot

Oryx, the Taken King arrived last week in the UK and has successfully taken the top spot from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Yes, Destiny: The Taken King has delivered Bungie another victory, and Activision’s its first major victory since week 6 of 2015. The PS4 was the most popular version of The Taken King managing to grab a commanding 57% share compared to 34% on Xbox One, 7% on Xbox 360, and 2% on PS3.

Overall it was a pretty good week in the UK for new releases. Forza Motorsport 6 raced into the second spot, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 kicked off in the third spot. Other recent releases, like Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max, continue to do well in the UK. Last week also saw the resurgence of Call of Duty: Ghosts thanks to a special Xbox One retailer bundle.
