Atlus Announces Shin Megami Tensei IV Final

When Shin Megami Tensei IV was released in 2013, it brought new life to the handheld market. It was not only one of the best, most hardcore RPGs to be found on the 3DS, but it featured a more dark and gritty story than we’ve come to expect for a Nintendo exclusive (although the series is well known for its depressing settings).

Well it seems Atlus isn’t done with the fourth iteration. The Japanese developer has announced today that they will be following up their 2013 release with Shin Megami Tensei IV Final. The teaser site lifted earlier today, along with Famitsu having their own reveal for their next issue on October 8, teasing just what to expect.

This will be a brand new story that will follow a completely new cast of characters. This won’t be a remake or reissue, but instead an entirely new game, which makes it even more confusing considering how Atlus has placed it under the Shin Megami Tensei IV (specifically) banner. Regardless, the Shin Megami Tensei Final will be out February 10, 2016 in Japan with an unconfirmed release for the west
