Anime and Video Game Voice Actor, Miyu Matsuki, Passes Away

Today, we solemnly announce the passing of voice actress Miyu Matsuki. Matsuki was born in Hiroshima, Japan on September 14, 1977 and first got her start in 2000 voicing Anna in the anime Rune Soldiers and grew to become a prominent actress.

Matsuki began starring in more popular anime series’ including Naruto, Wolf’s Rain and Fullmetal Alchemist. Later on, Matsuki gained bigger roles starring in more episodes of shows such as Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei, Otoboku, Seitokai Yakuindomo and more.

In 2002 Matsuki landed one of her first video game roles voicing Hisui in Melty Blood which was a visual novel turned arcade game. It’s even been featured at multiple fighting game tournaments showing just how popular it’s been. Her next game was Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm for the PlayStation 2 voicing one of the main characters, Iris Fortner. She went on to voice characters in Phantom Breaker, Castlevania Judgement and Tales of Zestiria. Many of the anime she’s starred in have been turned in to video game as well.

Miyu Matsuki passed away October 27, just shy of 40 years old due to pneumonia. She provided her talents to so many shows, movies and video games during her lifetime and will be missed. It’s difficult whenever a celebrity passes away, especially ones so important to their industries. We will always have the opportunity to cherish everything she’s accomplished.
