The first major release post-Heavensward launch is finally upon us. For those who continue to subscribe to the MMO and have picked up the major expansion released back in July, you will receive the latest update at no additional charge.
Along with an extension on the main story, the biggest new addition in patch 3.1 is the Void Ark 24-player alliance raid. It doesn’t stop there, though, as there are also exploratory missions, a Lord Verminion Gold Saucer mini-game, two high-level dungeons (Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum and Pharos Sirius Hard), new Vanu Vanu beast tribe quests, The Minstrel’s Ballad: Thordan’s Reign boss fight, new hair styles and much more. Even specific mounts from 2.0 will also be given the ability to fly, which was a strange complaint when Heavensward was released.
In addition, to celebrate the final chapter in Final Fantasy XI which was also released today, Iroha will be visiting Final Fantasy XIV’s world until December 31. This will give adventures a new set of event quests to complete, gaining unique items in the process, which includes Iroha’s outfit.
Final Fantasy XIV Patch 3.1: As Goes Light, So Goes Darkness, is available right now on PC, PS4 and PS3. For an even more extensive detailed look at all the new content, Square Enix has posted incredibly lengthy notes.
