British actor Idris Elba has featured in some new trailers for Ubisoft Montreal’s upcoming Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.
Called “Siege the Day,” the live-action trailer (posted below) is a “rapid-fire re-enactment” of Rainbow Six Siege’s online multiplayer, with a counter-terrorist unit attempting to save a hostage from a location that is similar to one of the title’s maps, House.
Elba, whose résumé consists of films such as Prometheus, Pacific Rim and Thor, also places himself at the center of the destruction and chaos in the trailer, while offering some running commentary during the midst of the hostage rescue mission.
Outside of the Siege the Day trailer, Ubisoft’s Mikel Reparaz revealed on the Ubisoft Blog that Elba is appearing in Rainbow Six Siege’s “The Laws of Siege,” a video series focusing on “the game’s more explosive and destructive aspects.”
Ubisoft has currently released three of The Laws of Siege’s videos — Intimate Arenas, Attack VS. Defend and Unique Operators — on the Rainbow Six YouTube channel, with the fourth featurette, Pinpoint Destruction, labelled with a “Coming soon” annotation.
In other Rainbow Six Siege news, Ubisoft Montreal announced that PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC owners would be able to participate in a four-day open beta for the title next week.
Rainbow Six Siege, which Ubisoft unveiled at its E3 press conference in 2014, was originally scheduled for release on October 13, 2015, but the publisher delayed the title earlier this year in order to make a few “adjustments and improvements.”
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege will launch on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
