Star Wars Battlefront: Battle of Jakku DLC First Gameplay Trailer is Here

EA and DICE have released the first gameplay trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront: Battle of Jakku DLC. The free DLC is available tomorrow for everyone that pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront before it launched.

The Battle of Jakku is the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted key Imperial holdouts on the remote desert planet. The confrontation takes place after the Battle of Endor, where the Rebels successfully defeated the Empire and killed Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. Players will now get to experience these moments, and experience the events that crated the massive, battle-scarred landscape seen in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Included in the DLC is Turning Point, a brand new 40-player game mode. In Turning Point, the rebels must find three control points and successfully capture one of them. Successfully capturing a point adds additional time to the clock and new points to capture. Eventually, the Rebels will make it to the Empire’s base, where the final stand will take place. Turning Point will be playable on one of the new maps, though it is unknown if the Endor, Hoth, Sullust, and Tatooine maps will support the mode.

Speaking of maps, only two new maps will come with the DLC. Graveyard of Giants will host the big game modes (Turning Point, Supremacy, Walker Assault, and Fighter Squadron) and Goazan Badlands plays host to the smaller modes (Blast, Drop Zone, Droid Run, Cargo, Hero Hunt, and Heroes vs. Villains). No new guns, Star Cards, or Heroes come with the DLC.

Star Wars Battlefront: Battle of Jakku us out tomorrow for anyone who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront, and on December 8 for everyone else. In our review, we found Battlefront to be quite beautiful, but suffered from a lack of content and gameplay depth.
