UPDATE: The Walking Dead: Michonne was indeed revealed at The Game Awards. Check out the first trailer here.
ORIGINAL STORY: The world premiere of The Walking Dead: Michonne is scheduled to take place at The Game Awards on Thursday, December 3, Telltale Games creative communications head Job J. Stauffer has confirmed today.
Taking to Twitter, Stauffer revealed in his initial tweet that this will be the first opportunity that Walking Dead fans will have in seeing Telltale Games’ upcoming three-episode mini-series, although he did add that The Walking Dead: Michonne won’t be released this month.
In another tweet, however, Stauffer insisted that the story-driven episodic title will be “premiering sooner than you think, but shifting just a few weeks will make for a tighter three-episode series.”
Further details on The Walking Dead: Michonne are expected to come at a later date, Stauffer confirmed.
The tweets from Stauffer are a follow-up to The Walking Dead: Michonne teaser posted on Telltale’s official Twitter account, with the developer’s tweet (posted below) featuring an image of main protagonist Michonne while being accompanied by a caption: “Not everyone deserves saving.”

Last month, Stauffer revealed that he had been playing The Walking Dead: Michonne with the development team, in which he called the title a “Fresh” and “brutal” experience.
The Walking Dead: Michonne, which Telltale announced at E3 earlier this year, will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Android and iOS.
The Game Awards will be held tonight at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
In addition to the multiple awards that will be presented at the event (see the full list of nominees here), The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has confirmed that ten games will be having “world premieres” at the show, including Ubisoft Montreal’s upcoming Far Cry Primal.
