Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Dominates Canadian Videogame Awards 2015

Ubisoft Quebec’s Assassin’s Creed Syndicate emerged triumphantly at this year’s Canadian Videogame Awards, winning the prestigious Game of the Year award.

With nine nominations behind it, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate scooped the awards in five different categories, including Best Audio, Best Visual Arts and Best New Character.

Assassin’s Creed Unity, which also received nominations in multiple categories, failed to make its mark by winning a single award, while Far Cry 4’s developer, Ubisoft Montreal, was able to walk away with the Best Game Design award for the first-person open-world title.

Outside of the success that publisher Ubisoft achieved at the event — beating out its competition for six awards — Square Enix Montreal took home Best iOS Game for Lara Croft Go, CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt picked up the award for Fans’ Choice: Best International Game and BioWare’s Dragon Age: Inquisition had notable success in two categories: Best Console Game and Best Writing.

The Canadian Videogame Awards was held at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Canada, on December 6, 2015.
