Just Cause 3 is Getting Multiplayer Courtesy of Modders

The team behind the widely acclaimed Just Cause 2 multiplayer mode are back, bringing intense multiplayer action to Just Cause 3.

JC3-MP is an upcoming mod for Just Cause 3 that adds competitive multiplayer to the zany open-world game. The mod is under development by Just Cause Multiplayer, the same team that developed the JC2-MP mod for Just Cause 2. A short teaser was released, showcasing some competitive racing in cars, box cars, jets, and even rubber-duckies. This is just a slight taste of what to expect from JC3-MP, and the team is excited to share more frequent updates heading into the new year.

Just Cause 3 launched a month ago on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and was all kinds of crazy. Missing, however, was a competitive multiplayer mode. Despite the success of the JC2-MP mod, developer Avalanche Studios opted to forgo multiplayer in favor of using their time and resources to build a vast, detailed world.

Obviously, the JC3-MP mod is exclusive to the PC version of the game. Whether the console version of Just Cause 3 will ever receive multiplayer will depend on Avalanche, and whether or not they plan on adding it in as a free update or DLC.
