Phil Spencer Says Xbox One and PC Cross-Buy to be ‘Platform Feature’

Microsoft’s Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirmed via Twitter that cross-buy and cross-save between Xbox One and PC will become “a platform feature.”

Recently we reported that players who pre-order Remedy Entertainment’s upcoming time-bender Quantum Break on Xbox One would get a free copy of the game’s PC version as well. In addition, the two versions of the game will share save files. Both of these features have become relatively standard between Sony’s PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 platforms, but Microsoft has not offered a comparative deal until now.

A fan asked Spencer on Twitter if the deal would be limited either to first-party games or games with which Microsoft has struck a kind of exclusivity deal. Spencer responded that Microsoft will “make it a platform feature” and said, “We think it’s good for gamers.”
