Pokémon GO is the next greatly anticipated game in the franchise and it’s coming to cell phones this year, but we still don’t know much about how it will look or work. Today that changes a little with what appears to be a leak of gameplay footage. The video was taken at a South by Southwest gaming panel with John Hanke who is the CEO of developer Niantic Labs.
In the video we get to see a trainer attempt to catch an Ivysaur with a regular pokéball before getting serious and using a masterball. We then see the stats of Ivysaur and some type of item that says crystal. The footage is complete with the series battle music, but doesn’t feature any fighting.
Pokémon GO is scheduled to release in 2016 for iOS and Android mobile devices. The game will have a field test in Japan later this month.
