RollerCoaster Tycoon World Becomes Early Access, Release Date Confirmed

With the game undergone a beta testing — and unfortunately suffering from a somewhat industry-standard delay — Atari’s RollerCoaster Tycoon World finally has a release date set. However, the game will see its first public release in Early Access. Explaining their reasons for sharing the game via this format, on the game’s Steam blog, developers Nvizzio Creations state their intention is to “feel the game is ready to be shared with the world as a finished product.”

“Yes, there really is much more work we want to do…” they go on. “This isn’t about just bug fixing but also adding new functionalities that the game needs…we know this is not what some of you may have expected…the Early Access version of RCTW contains the core features and content that you should expect from the final product. That said, some key features like the Coaster builder, the simulation and the overall user experience will be optimized, improved and refined all along the Early Access period.”

Nvizzio have reaffirmed that the refund policy will remain in place until March 31, for those who originally pre-ordered the game through Atari’s or RollerCoaster Tycoon’s own site.
