No, it’s not the name of a DC Comics movie (but it sounds like a good one). The Flash Clash is the next round of online Pokémon battles to start up. It’s a competition that’s taken place in the past but since fans keep coming up with new strategies, it won’t be the same.
The Flash Clash is a battle that requires split-second decision making. Battles have a five minute time limit, only ten seconds to choose an attack and just one Pokémon is allowed to compete. It’s not for the faint of heart. Out of the six Pokémon you choose for your party, you’re only allowed to use one which makes a strategy going into battle…useless.
There is only room for the first 50,000 competitors to sign up and is compatible for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. Many legendary Pokémon are not allowed to compete. You can view more rules and information here. It may be wise to go with a speedy Pokémon, but like we said, there’s no use in planning ahead.
The Flash Clash sign-ups open on April 21 with the competition starting April 29.
