While it isn’t the newest flashy, action-packed, fast-paced fighting game from Guilty Gear and BlazBlue developer Arc System Works, the mouthful that is “Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code” is a late Western localization of a 2009 PS2 game developed by which fits the sprite fighting game developer’s MO perfectly.
Originally developed by FRENCH-BREAD, Actress Again Current Code is actually a PC port of the third installment in the Japanese Melty Blood 2D fighting game series. The Melty Blood fighting games themselves are actually based on a popular adult visual novel called Tsukihime, which was created by none other than Fate/stay night developer TYPE-MOON. Fate fans already know that this means both Melty Blood’s source material and subject matter devolve into one thing: over-the-top fantasy violence. Granted, the number of folks over here who have been wanting Actress Again localized may not be gigantic, but fighting game and visual novel fans alike all stand to benefit from this pleasant turn of events. Actress Again features 31 playable characters, each with three different fighting styles. There will be an arcade story mode, local multiplayer, training mode, along with both ranked and non-ranked network battle.
