NIS America, Spike Chunsoft, and developer MonoChro’s “Grand Kingdom” is getting a Closed Beta early next month. A new tactical, turn-based JRPG, Grand Kingdom features an online component where players can contract with one of four nations and wage war campaigns in a community effort. Players can participate with each other in voting what their army will do next, be it choosing a region to attack or the manner of treaty that will be in effect during the next war. Player contracts to a given nation last for a limited number of wars, so they are never truly tied to any one nation. Meanwhile, these wars include playable battles and a combined war effort which contributes to contesting control over a given region. This player community war effort is the crux of the Closed Beta content. Players have access to four classes in the beta: the Hunter, Fighter, Witch, and the Medic. While two single player quests are also included, the beta is all about participating in the online war events which occur three times a day.
The Closed Beta for Grand Kingdom will start on May 3, and run for one week on PlayStation 4. Sign up for the Closed Beta here, and check out a few screenshots from the Beta below. Grand Kingdom is out in the US on June 21, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
