Nintendo has confirmed that Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, the product of the crossover between the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem franchises, is being handled by Atlus. Game Informer reached out to Nintendo of America to learn more about its localization plans for the game, and was met with this response:
Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE was localized by Atlus in a way that is consistent with the localization work they do on games they publish. It was a priority to ensure the game feels familiar and appeals to longtime Atlus fans. Any changes made to the in-game content were due to varying requirements and regulations in the many different territories Nintendo distributes its products.
Judging from that statement, Nintendo is taking a lot of care to make sure Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is as faithfully localized as possible, especially considering the target audience. Nintendo’s own localization practices have been under scrutiny lately by some fans, so this news may be especially interesting to them.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE will launch on Wii U in North America on June 24.
