Call of Duty 2016 Could be Revealed Next Week

We’re getting closer to E3, which means the reveal for Call of Duty 2016 can’t be far off. According to some supposed leaked marketing materials, the reveal could happen next week.

Games critic Jim Sterling recently took to Twitter with some supposed marketing materials for a retail store. According to the materials, the Star Fox: Zero header will be replaced by Call of Duty 2016 on May 3, which would be the day the game is revealed.

There is precedence backing this rumor up. Starting with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, all Call of Duty games have been revealed in May. Even before that, many Call of Duty titles saw a reveal sometime in the spring. Of course, there is one glaring error that makes this look fake. The materials misspelled ‘Revealed” as “Reavealed.” Given this, it’s very possible that someone knocked this together in Photoshop.

Best to label this as a rumor until either Activision or Infinity Ward makes an announcement. Current rumors suggest that the game will go full sci-fi and take players very far into the future. Whether these marketing materials are real or not, we’re likely to get some form of reveal soon as we head towards E3 2016.
