The LCS is back and with it come some much needed changes. While you may not be a fan of the Bo2 method more games is always a good thing. Besides this will just make the teams better come Worlds as they’ll not get tilted in between matches during their B03. Why didn’t Riot just give them Bo3? Well that we’ll never know, but that’s neither here nor there. What’s important are the standings after week one:
1. G2 Esports 6 pts
2. Fnatic, FS Schalke 04 4 pts
4.Unicorns of Love 3 pts
5. Splyce, Roccat, Team Vitality, H2K 2 pts
9.Giants, Origen 0 pts
You might be wondering where the W-T-L stats are and I’ve decided not to include them unless necessary. For those not familiar with the point system here’s how you get them. If you win a match you’re awarded three points, if you lose you’re awarded none, and if you draw/tie you’re awarded one. So when you hear that they did the B02 system in Europe because they’re more familiar with ties, that’s why. Here are the matchups going in day one with the the series running along side in respect to team name position. (No overall since this is my first week)
- H2k vs Giants (2-0)
- Team Vitality vs Origen (2-0)
- Fnatic vs UOL (1-1)
- Roccat vs G2 (0-2)
- Splyce vs Schalke (0-2)
There’s not much in the way of analysis here. To be completely honest I missed the first week, but I’ll watching tomorrow so I can see all the losses I gather. Now what constitutes a loss? Since we’re doing Bo2s at times there will be no outright winner so how do I work that into my overall? Well, as of right now I’m thinking that it should count as a loss if I predict a tie and one team wins or if I predict a team to win and there’s a tie. Rough I know and probably not the official way to handle things, but if it’s against me I only see that as being the fair way to do things. I’ll just have to get better at my atrocious predictions.
That being said feel free at all times to share your thoughts in the comments below. If you think I’m a bumbling idiot then say so, but at least provide why. More importantly if you have any readability issues or know of a better way to structure things feel free to drop a comment as well.
