Following on from today’s, if expected still quite surprising, reveal of the latest entry into the survival-horror series at Sony’s E3 press conference, Capcom have clarified in a blog post that Resident Evil 7 will (alongside PS4 & PSVR) also be made available for Xbox One & PC — via Steam and the Windows 10 store. Set after the events of Resident Evil 6, the seventh ‘main’ entry in the franchise will once again be set in modern times against the backdrop of what’s been described as a foreboding, derelict plantation mansion in rural America. A sprawling estate of which the player will need to explore and subsequently, survive.
Initial pre-order details have also been shared and for those purchasing through the official PS Store in North America can get their hands on the Resi 7 dynamic theme for PS4. Those who pre-order either the Standard or Digital Deluxe version of Resident Evil 7 will also receive the Survival Pack, which includes an early unlock to the hardest difficulty mode as well as a special item set when the game releases. Pre-orders for both Xbox One and PC, Capcom state, will be made available in the near future. Resident Evil 7 will release for PS4, Xbox One & PC on January 24, 2017.
