Sony has revealed how much space you’re going to have to give up for PS VR.
Like any VR headset, PS VR is going to need some space in order to function properly. Sony has revealed the amount of space players will need to make to get PS VR to work properly. According to a sales brochure posted on Sony’s website, players will need to dedicate a 9.8ft by 6.2ft space to PS VR. Sony also urges players to remain aware of their surroundings while playing.
“Limit your use of PS VR to within the Play Area. Clear an area larger than the Play Area of all obstacles before using PS VR and remain seated whenever possible. If the application requires you to stand while wearing the VR headset, follow the application instructions carefully, and maintain awareness of your surroundings.”
The 60 sq. ft. space is required to get the PS Camera working properly. The camera is used to track the headset and Dualshock 4/Move controllers. Sony highly recommends trying the PS VR at a store before taking the plunge and buying one. Also, the headset is not to be used by anyone under the age of twelve.
PS VR is out October 13 and will cost $400. The PS4 NEO, which is believed to enhance the PS VR experience thanks to its more powerful hardware, is rumored to launch that same day.
