Players and collectors of the Pokémon Trading Card Game can now pick up the latest expansion in the series with XY–Steam Siege. The storyline for this particular set stars Shiny Mega Gardevoir-EX leading evil forces to attack the Gear Palace. Volcanion calls upon its unique combination of powers in order to stop them.
There are over 115 new cards to collect which can be found in various booster packs as well as specialized decks available in retail stores now. You will receive seven new BREAK cards, giving some of your Pokémon, including Talonflame and Yanmega, added health and strength to battle. More Mega Evolved and EX cards are added to the fray as well to give your deck a boost.
Dual-type cards make their first appearance since HeartGold and SoulSilver expansions. These add yet another layer of strategy for players to incorporate as many Pokémon gain new typings. It could spell trouble for organizing a deck but the pay-off may be great. This comeback actually has excellent timing as it seems to correspond with the recent announcement of Alolan forms of Pokémon in the upcoming Sun and Moon games.
Volcanion and Magearna are the stars of Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel but also make their trading card debut in Steam Siege. Both Pokémon come as EX versions and their legendary status should make them powerful members of your team. The two can be seen in the promotional trailer for the film below along with a commercial for the Steam Siege expansion. They are sure to make a huge impact on your gameplay style as well as the rest of the Pokémon world.
Don’t forget to add your new cards to the Pokémon Trading Card Game Online to play them against opponents around the world.
