Firewatch Dated for Xbox, Releasing Later This Month

Those of you who own an Xbox One — and more specifically have not had the chance to play Campo Santo’s acclaimed first-person mystery Firewatch, on either PS4 or PC this year — will not have long to wait. The developer has today confirmed that the game will be launching on Microsoft’s console on September 21. What’s more, along with the original game, Xbox owners will also get the chance to learn more about the development of the game via a new Director’s Commentary-style audio that can be enabled during playthroughs of the game.

Or, as the developer calls it, the “complete Firewatch Audio Tour” that is essentially “one part Director’s Commentary, one part Game Dev Workshop and wraps that all around a scavenger hunt.” Furthermore, a brand new free-roam mode will be included that will let players explore the entire Shoshone Wilderness of the game with dynamic time of day and a few hidden secrets included too. You can read up on what we thought of Firewatch when it originally released earlier this year in both our review as well as The Sitdown.
