Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is shaping up to be much more than just a port. During a PAX West 2016 Developer Discussion that just released today, we get insight as to what new additions will be waiting for us in this hundred hour role-playing classic.
First up is the localization that originally wasn’t even going to happen. The dev team had concluded that they couldn’t justify a new localization based on business decisions but after numerous fan requests they changed their minds. If you’ve played Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky on Nintendo DS then I’m sure you remember the streetpass feature where you would collect maps leading to bonus bosses and treasure. Rest assured it’s back for this update on 3DS. The panel closes out with a developer trivia portion where you’ll learn more about Mr. Fujimoto.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will launch on September 16, 2016 for Nintendo 3DS.
