Original PS4 to Get HDR Support

While it seemed all talk about increased performance and visual fidelity would focus entirely on the newly announced PS4 Pro at today’s PlayStation Meeting, Sony aren’t quite leaving those who will decide on sticking with their original PS4’s, fully out of the experience.

It’s been announced that a new firmware update — to be rolled out next week — will allow all standard PS4 models, old and new, to support High Dynamic Range (HDR) lighting though players will of course need a TV that supports HDR to fully see the difference in visuals. Those who are looking for increase in resolution and textures will have to look to the PS4 Pro as the more likely model to implement this upgrade.
