Miyazaki Confirms New Armored Core in Development

A little under a year ago, we reported on rumors that From Software were already well underway with not one, not two, but three major projects. And with the official release of Dark Souls 3 out of the way — DLC excluded of course — the president of From Software, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has confirmed that the developer is indeed working on a new entry to the Armored Core series, though stopped short of confirming the project as Armored Core VI and/or a follow-up to the fifth main entry in the series that released in 2012 for PS3 & Xbox 360.

Speaking to IGN, Miyazaki stated that at least one of these games will “probably comply with the expectations from the fans in straightforward manner”, however one — when it comes to officially unveiling/announcing — will likely be seen as “a little bit weird”. While Miyazaki, when pressed, commented on the fact that From were “already working on Armored Core” — which could suggest that the project has been in development for at least several months — he didn’t offer or allude to any details pertaining to said “weird” game.

No concrete or even vague release window was offered; Miyazaki stating that all three games still held “several obstacles we need to overcome to launch”. Regardless of what this particular might be (JRPG-weird perhaps or otherwise), you can’t say we didn’t warn you.
