The Xbox One and Xbox One S have outsold the PlayStation 4 for the third month in a row, according to Microsoft.
Word comes by way of NPD, an industry tracking site that keeps tabs on sales numbers in the games industry. Microsoft said, “Xbox One was the best-selling console in September in the U.S. for the third month in a row according to NPD Group as well as the best-selling console in September in the U.K. according to GfK Entertainment UK.”
This spike is likely due to the release of the Xbox One S, which has been received incredibly well, raising sales of Xbox Ones by 1000 percent in the UK. PlayStation recently announced and released a slim version of the PlayStation 4 as well, yet Xbox has still made it out on top.
While these numbers are good for Xbox, July, August and September are not the biggest months of the year. November and December sales are the real ones to look out for, so we’ll keep you posted as the Christmas months come and go.
