With remasters becoming all the rage these days, PC owners have usually gotten the welcome benefit of receiving the updated version free of cost if they already own the previous version, such as with this year’s Skyrim and Bioshock remasters.
So, when Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition was announced last week during the Game Awards, those who bought the zany 2011 FPS on PC were hoping that a similar situation would occur. Unfortunately, that will not end up being the case, as shown in the tweet below by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, the same developer who is publishing the title for current gen platforms. While the reasons he list are all justifiable, the end result is no less disappointing for those who had already spent the money on the PC version of the game.
@Rob_Dagg Not possible – completely different publisher, era, platform (they were Games for Windows only), product/sku, etc.

Bulletstorm is currently available on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, with the Full Clip Edition arriving next year on PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to PC.
