Penny Arcade and ReedPOP Announce PAX Unplugged

Like many successful bands from an era when MTV was actually about music, PAX’s popularity has reached a point where they are ready to go Unplugged. PAX Unplugged will be the newest gathering of gamers hosted by Penny Arcade, though it will be slightly different than the other PAXen (my preferred plural form of PAX). Tabletop, board, and card games have always had their place at the other PAXen, but the main focus of those events was on video games. PAX Unplugged is about shutting off the televisions and computer monitors and actually interacting with other people face to face playing games that won’t elevate the electric bill.

Despite the shift from video games to tabletop, PAX Unplugged promises to provide all the elements that made these events so popular such as the chance to play and see the reveal of highly-anticipated upcoming games, attend game-inspired music concerts, participate in tournaments, and watch panels with industry leaders – but with a renewed focus on fostering the best event for the burgeoning tabletop gaming community. PAX Unplugged will make its debut in the home city of former boxing heavyweight champion Rocky Balboa at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, November 17 – 19, 2017, with tickets going on sale sometime this Spring.
