The Nintendo Switch was just released a week ago and a few launch titles came along with it. However, there is still a lot more to come. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one such title we haven’t heard much from since its announcement a couple of months back. Now, a brand new trailer has been posted revealing more about the upcoming racing game.
It has all the same features from Mario Kart 8 on Wii U but builds on top of that and adds plenty of content. This deluxe version comes with every DLC racer, course and vehicles including Link and Isabelle. That in itself is a great deal for anyone who hadn’t added them to the roster. Then, you’ll also get brand new competitors such as Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and King Boo.
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, players are now allowed to hold two items like in previous games. This will make for some interesting and effective combos on your way to first place. A couple items are coming back as well, like Boo, which turns you invisible and allows you to steal items. The Feather is also available but only for battle modes and gives you some extra air time.
Speaking of battling, there a lot of new modes to try out in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Coin Runners has everyone racing around to try and collect the most coins. Shine Thief is a more intense version of tag. There is also a new battle called Renegade Roundup where players try and out maneuver an authority figure. All of these and more can be played in brand new exclusive battle stages including Wuhu Town from Mario Kart 7 and Urchin Underpass from Splatoon.
All this content makes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe the must-have in the series since it contains all the old and plenty new! Take a look at everything in the trailer below and get ready to race when the game launches on April 28.
