The film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed Uncharted franchise has seemed to be in production for years now, with various names for cast and crew being discussed and dismissed with surprising frequency.
However, we may finally have some solid roles set, as well as an interesting new direction. With Shawn Levy being revealed last year as the latest director to take on the global adventuring title, Sony Pictures has also revealed that Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland will be taking up the mantle of Nathan Drake, portraying a younger version of the action hero as the movie is currently planned to be a prequel. Exploring the backstory of the witty protagonist isn’t an entirely surprising direction, as some of the more emotional and intriguing scenes occurred during the flashback sequences found in Uncharted 3 and 4.
