Square Enix have revealed the time frame for when the final story DLC for Final Fantasy XV. Episode Ignis, will drop.
Those hoping for Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis to release soon are going to be disappointed. It took four months to get Episode Gladiolus (March), and only three months to get Episode Prompto (June). Episode Ignis, though, is going to take a full six months before it arrives on PS4 and Xbox One.
The December 2017 window was confirmed through a short teaser trailer that plays after beating Episode Prompto. The teaser features Ignis pinned down by Magitech soldiers and being confronted by Ardyn. It’s very likely that the DLC will reveal what Ignis was doing in Altissa during Noctis’ fight with Leviathan.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Ignis is the third-to-last DLC pack for Final Fantasy XV. Sometime after the release of Episode Ignis, Square Enix intends to release Comrades, an expansion that adds in co-op multiplayer. The team is also working on Monsters of the Deep, a PSVR title based on the base game’s fishing mechanics.
Final Fantasy XV is available now on PS4 and Xbox One. Episodes Gladiolus and Prompto are both available now as standalone purchases or as part of the Final Fantasy XV Season Pass.
